Dissection of the ascending aorta as a complication originating from cardiosurgical treatments.

The acute dissection of the ascending aorta can highlight in a low percentage of patients as an intraoperative complication or after a certain period after the treatment. The disease is favoured by the intra-operative hypertension, by the anatomopathologic conditions of the aorta, such as the dilatation and the thinning of the walls, or by a cystic medionechrosis or atherosclerosis. In the present document, we will report the incidence of the complications registered in our Department, as well as the surgical techniques adopted to treat the lesions and the results
