Abstract
Thermal infrared imaging is considered an upcoming and promising methodology in the field of biomedicine. This article aims to provide an overview on the literature about the recent developments in the field of biomedical applications of the thermal infrared imaging for the study of the functional properties and modifications of the thermoregulatory system. The analysis of the skin temperature dynamic in response to a stimulus, combined with the modelling of the bioheat exchange processes, are the bases of the methodology, together with the recording of thermal infrared data using advanced technologies. Apart from the recent technical developments, particular emphasis is given to some innovative applications in biomedicine, such as its use in psychophysiological states assessment and sport and exercise sciences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
