The Contribution of Hans Nawiasky to the 20th Century Legal Culture. Hans Nawiasky was one of the most prominent jurists during the Weimar Republic. Although his life has been studied thoroughly in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, it has not so far been subject to similar scrutiny in Italy. Nawiasky is known as a representative of federalism and for his works on the general doctrine of law and on the general doctrine of the state. In 1933 he became a victim of NS persecution. He is the one of the Founding Fathers of the Constitution of Bavaria adopted in October 1946 and also participated in the Herrenchiemsee Constitutional Convention, which prepared a draft of the German Basic Law.
