If any evidence of extraterrestrial life (especially of an intelligent one) were ever discovered, what consequences would it have for us? While primitive life might be discovered in the next future into our Solar System, a physical contact with an extraterrestrial civilization seems to be excluded, so that only an indirect contact, via radio waves (as in the SETI Program) is possible. Therefore, the main implications would not be at the political, military, or economical level, but at the cultural one, especially philosophical and religious, which will be discussed in the present paper.

Abstract
If any evidence of extraterrestrial life (especially of an intelligent one) were ever discovered, what consequences would it have for us? While primitive life might be discovered in the next future into our Solar System, a physical contact with an extraterrestrial civilization seems to be excluded, so that only an indirect contact, via radio waves (as in the SETI Program) is possible. Therefore, the main implications would not be at the political, military, or economical level, but at the cultural one, especially philosophical and religious, which will be discussed in the present paper.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
