The effective lensing effects in parametric frequency conversion were presented. The paraxial description of parametric frequency conversion was dependent on the mismatch sign, the selected wave and the launching condition. It was found that the results were applied to the temporal case with changes for the physical meaning of the effective Kerr nonlinearities.
