The collective imagination of the western and eastern culture shapes its symbolic landscape between two opposite archetypal polarities: Light and Darkness. In the history of culture and religion one can observe a continuous effervescence of symbolic forms that convey the idea of light, darkness and their conflict in many different ways: moral, cosmic, theological, epistemological, etc. This text focus on the new forms of this dialectic, explaining its relation with the technology and its mise-en-scène on mass media system. Particularly this paper want to show the importance of the images proliferation based on the scientific and technological knowledge that seem to clear the way for a new word with a different way of life, a specific political order and new strategies to create the mass consensus.
