Abstract

In this paper quantum properties of images and the entanglement in multi-photon regime are studied, which can be investigated in parametric down-conversion (PDC) experiments that are different from usual single-photon counts coincidences experiments. A new system is presented, characterized by high gain, high energy pulsed pump with duration comparable with the coherence time of the generated parametric field, high quantum efficiency diagnostic given by a cooled scientific camera (CCD) permitting to retrieve fluctuations at the shot-noise level in its full dynamical range
