The present paper intends to examine the main critical issues of centralized plants realized to operate co-digestion of biodegradable waste collected in urban areas and originated by agro-industry typical of the Mediterranean area. Highlighting the potential of co-treatment of municipal sludge combined with other organic substrates and the optimization of biogas production, based on the analysis of the results of experimental tests carried out in batch reactors and on the modelling analysis of the process, a series of criteria and technical data has been developed for designing and managing systems of variable capacity.

Abstract
The present paper intends to examine the main critical issues of centralized plants realized to operate co-digestion of biodegradable waste collected in urban areas and originated by agro-industry typical of the Mediterranean area. Highlighting the potential of co-treatment of municipal sludge combined with other organic substrates and the optimization of biogas production, based on the analysis of the results of experimental tests carried out in batch reactors and on the modelling analysis of the process, a series of criteria and technical data has been developed for designing and managing systems of variable capacity.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
