In a previous paper, presented last year at the Toulouse IAF Congress, I discussed the possibility of communicating our cultural concepts in a SETI message, suggesting that analogy could be a useful tool, also providing a short example of this. Now I’ll try to develop this idea in a more systematic way, aiming to the construction of an effective message with wide cultural content. In the present paper both materials and methods will be discussed, especially with relation to these three questions: 1) Which of the main concepts of our culture are likely to be communicated in this way? 2) Is the conceptual cluster provided by Dutil and Dumas through mathematics and science sufficient as a basis to apply the analogical methodology or should it be extended further? 3) What is the possible contribution of the different kinds of logic (i.e. classical, mathematical, fuzzy and so on) and which are their relationships (if any) with analogy? If possible, a first sketch of a message, more detailed than the Toulouse’s one, will be provided, too.
