This chapter presents W2000, a complete notation for modeling complex Web applications. All W2000 concepts are based on a precise meta-model that characterizes the different notation elements and identifies the relationships among them. After introducing the modeling concepts and the hierarchical organization of W2000 models, the chapter exemplifies the main modeling features through a case study and clarifies some design alternatives. The chapter also describes the tool support offered by W2000 and the first feedback on the usability of the modeling notation. The chapter summarizes the main results that we obtained with an empirical study with our students to gather evidence on the use and usefulness of W2000.

Abstract
This chapter presents W2000, a complete notation for modeling complex Web applications. All W2000 concepts are based on a precise meta-model that characterizes the different notation elements and identifies the relationships among them. After introducing the modeling concepts and the hierarchical organization of W2000 models, the chapter exemplifies the main modeling features through a case study and clarifies some design alternatives. The chapter also describes the tool support offered by W2000 and the first feedback on the usability of the modeling notation. The chapter summarizes the main results that we obtained with an empirical study with our students to gather evidence on the use and usefulness of W2000.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
