“Wir verehren das Chaos , weil wir es lieben, Ordnung zu schaffen”: Inspiriert von den Arbeiten M. C. Eschers veranschaulicht das Titelbild die Metamorphose einer Ethanol/Wasser-Lösung. Wie G. Tabacchi et al. in der Zuschrift auf S. 2137 ff. beschreiben, ergeben chaotisch verteilte Moleküle ein wunderbar geordnetes zweidimensionales Muster aus Dimeren und Tetrameren. Diese Ordnung entsteht bei hohem Druck und durch Einschluss in nanometergroße Hohlräume (Illustration: Andrea Stangoni).
