Endoscopic surgery of the pituitary gland (hypophysis) in childhood [La chirurgia endoscopica dell'ipofisi in età pediatrica]

Otolaryngologist and Neurosurgeon collaborate directly in the operating room, using the endonasal endoscopic approach defined "Two Nostrils Four Hands". This technique is also used in pediatric age to treat sellar and parasellar lesions, offering an alternative treatment to the microscopic way. Advantages of this mini-invasive technique are: absence of aesthetic complications, reduction of morbility and hospitalisation, possibility to preserve the anatomy of hipotalamus-hypophisal axys assuring the correct growth of child.
