This video vignette shows laparoscopic restoration of bowel continuity in a patient who 6 months earlier underwent emergency Hartmann's procedure for Hinchey 2b diverticulitis (Khalid et al, Colorectal Dis 2020). This video further demonstrates the benefits of laparoscopic approach to Hartmann's procedure in the setting of perforated diverticulitis. It shows how a laparoscopic approach results in minimal intraabdominal adhesions. As a result, a subsequent reversal of colostomy, or any other intraabdominal surgery, is technically less challenging with lesser risk of iatrogenic injury, thus maximising the chances of fast and uncomplicated recovery.

Abstract
This video vignette shows laparoscopic restoration of bowel continuity in a patient who 6 months earlier underwent emergency Hartmann's procedure for Hinchey 2b diverticulitis (Khalid et al, Colorectal Dis 2020). This video further demonstrates the benefits of laparoscopic approach to Hartmann's procedure in the setting of perforated diverticulitis. It shows how a laparoscopic approach results in minimal intraabdominal adhesions. As a result, a subsequent reversal of colostomy, or any other intraabdominal surgery, is technically less challenging with lesser risk of iatrogenic injury, thus maximising the chances of fast and uncomplicated recovery.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
