European identity, since its origins, has undergone a dual spirit, which constitutes at the same time its strength and its weakness. Universalism and pluralism of its cultures, its heroic matrix and its degeneration into the technocracy of the merchants are only two of the possible juxtapositions in which the paradoxical essence of Europe is expressed. Nonetheless, this aporia is exactly the creator of a millenary culture, founded on symbols, myths and narrations: only by rediscovering these ones Europe will be able to re-build its role in the globalized world.

Abstract
European identity, since its origins, has undergone a dual spirit, which constitutes at the same time its strength and its weakness. Universalism and pluralism of its cultures, its heroic matrix and its degeneration into the technocracy of the merchants are only two of the possible juxtapositions in which the paradoxical essence of Europe is expressed. Nonetheless, this aporia is exactly the creator of a millenary culture, founded on symbols, myths and narrations: only by rediscovering these ones Europe will be able to re-build its role in the globalized world.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
