Municipal solid waste management is not only a contemporary problem but also an issue at world level. More in detail, the tourist areas are more difficult to be managed. The dynamics of municipal solid waste production in tourist areas is affected from the addition of a significant amount of population equivalent during few months. Consequences are seen in terms of amount of municipal solid waste to be managed, but also on the quality of selective collection. In this paer two case-studies are analysed in order to point out some strategies useful for a correct management of the problem.
