A cerebrospinal fluid leak is a pathological communication between the intracranial and the sinonasal cavities. Radiologic examinations are aimed at confirming the presence and identifying the location and characteristics of a skull base defect, and at evaluating potential causing factors. They are also paramount for preoperative planning. Endoscopic endonasal repair of cerebrospinal spinal fluid leaks has a high overall success rate, ranging from 90% for primary reconstructions to 97% for secondary.
