Pandemic challenge and Digital Revolution The article emphasises how the events of the last two years have accelerated certain specific economic, educational and cultural trends already present in society, which are destined to continue and consolidate after the hoped-for end of the pandemic. The digital technologies underpinning smart working have been available for some time, but they had to wait until the health emergency to become widespread. The same can be said for the world of education and university, which has seen distance learning, the prerogative of telematic universities, become a common teaching method in a very short period of time. The essay invites us to reflect on the image of the world as a "global 70 village", not so much in the sense of the diffusion of information, as in that which adumbrates the extinction of the traditional concepts of time and space, annulled by the instantaneous becoming of the collective global experience.
