In recent years, interest in hydrogels has increased thanks to their mechanical and physical properties, which allows their application in numerous fields as for example drug delivery, self-powered sensors and wastewater treatment. In this work, polyacrylic acid (PAA) hydrogels with N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as cross-linker were synthesized using a novel one pot method. To characterize the hydrogel, rheological tests were performed which allowed to determine the average size of the mesh and the rheological properties of the hydrogels prepared under different conditions.
