Although some studies have explored the history of scientific and technological vocabulary in Latin American Spanish, the subject in question remains insufficiently investigated. This gap in research poses a challenge to gaining a comprehensive understanding of the historical processes that have shaped the current linguistic landscape of science and technology in Hispanic America. A notable contributing factor to this lack of studies is the absence of a dedicated historical corpus of scientific and technological texts in the region. This article aims to introduce the CORDICTAM, a project designed to address the lack of a suitable corpus for linguistic analysis, particularly focusing on scientific and technological texts. Our objective is to present the goals of the corpus, specifying its geographical, chronological, and thematic domains of interest. Additionally, we will discuss the decisions made regarding philological considerations, such as the transcription guidelines for the texts, and the technological attributes of the platform, which include the metadata provided to users and the implementation of search tools. Our ultimate goal is to shed light on the strategies required for a more effective and efficient recovery of the historical traces that, from a linguistic perspective, constitute the intangible heritage of scientific and technological knowledge in Hispanic America.

Abstract
Our ultimate goal is to shed light on the strategies required for a more effective and efficient recovery of the historical traces that, from a linguistic perspective, constitute the intangible heritage of scientific and technological knowledge in Hispanic America.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
