This second part of the review on publications in the Italian Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (IJOEHY) between 2013 and 2023 completes the analysis of contributions focused on occupational chemical risk, by examining 39 additional articles. The topics covered in this paper include risk assessment strategies, case studies, indoor air quality, exposure modeling, occupational hygiene methods, and engineered nanomaterials. The selected studies highlight growing attention to advanced measurement and modeling techniques, the integration of environmental and biological monitoring, the need for regulatory and training updates, and emerging criticalities related to alternative and less-known substances such as engineered nanomaterials. The case studies span a wide range of sectors – from arts and tanning to schools and the oil industry – offering a broad and concrete overview of real-life exposure scenarios. The review emphasizes the importance of source reduction, the effectiveness of personal protective equipment, and the need for improved communication among prevention stakeholders. This article serves as a valuable resource for researchers, professionals, and decision-makers, providing insights into trends, methodological approaches, and future priorities for the protection of health in occupational environments.
La seconda parte della rassegna dedicata alle pubblicazioni dell’Italian Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (IJOEHY) nel decennio 2013-2023 completa l’analisi dei contributi sul rischio chimico occupazionale, concentrandosi su 39 articoli non trattati nella prima parte. I temi affrontati in questo articolo comprendono: strategie per la valutazione del rischio, casi studio, qualità dell’aria indoor, modellistica, metodi per l’igiene occupazionale e nanomateriali ingegnerizzati. Gli studi selezionati evidenziano una crescente attenzione verso metodologie avanzate di misurazione e modellazione, l’importanza del monitoraggio integrato (ambientale e biologico), la necessità di aggiornamenti normativi e formativi, e le criticità legate all’uso di agenti di rischio emergenti come i nanomateriali. I casi studio analizzati coprono settori eterogenei, dal comparto artistico alle concerie, dalla scuola all’industria petrolifera, offrendo una panoramica ampia e concreta degli scenari di esposizione reale. Il lavoro evidenzia l’importanza della riduzione del rischio alla fonte, dell’efficacia dei dispositivi di protezione e della comunicazione tra attori della prevenzione. Questa rassegna costituisce uno strumento utile per ricercatori, professionisti e decisori, fornendo indicazioni su tendenze, approcci metodologici e priorità future per la tutela della salute nei luoghi di lavoro.
