This article explores the potential integration of canon law and the ecomuseum model as a strategy for protecting and enhancing ecclesiastical heritage. Employing an interdisciplinary approach that combines legal, mesological, and territorial perspectives, the study demonstrates how ecomuseums can offer innovative solutions to the conservation challenges faced by religious heritage, particularly in resource-limited and peripheral areas. By analysing canonical legislation alongside practical ecomuseum experiences, the research highlights the feasibility of participatory management models that honour the religious specificity of ecclesiastical assets while simultaneously promoting their cultural, social, and economic value. The findings point to promising opportunities for synergy, emphasizing the need for regulatory, educational, and organisational measures to support sustainable and inclusive heritage enhancement practices.
